KNOW GOD; KNOW PEACE
NO GOD; NO PEACE
This is simple, but very deep.
In recovery, healing, and life, many people spend years trying to find peace through:
• Alcohol
• Drugs
• Relationships
• Money
• Control
• Validation
• Escaping
• Staying busy
But none of those things truly give lasting peace.
Why?
Because external things cannot fix an internal emptiness.
This reading is saying that when we truly KNOW God, develop a relationship with God, seek truth, honesty, surrender, prayer, humility, and spiritual growth, something begins to change inside of us.
Not perfection.
Not a problem free life.
But peace.
A peace that helps us:
• Pause before reacting
• Breathe through anxiety
• Stay sober one day at a time
• Stop trying to control everything
• Trust even when life feels uncertain
• Let go of resentment and fear
The second part is powerful too:
NO God; NO peace.
Not meaning someone has to be religious.
It means when we live disconnected from:
• Purpose
• Spiritual connection
• Integrity
• Truth
• Hope
• Something greater than ourselves
…life often becomes chaotic, fearful, angry, lonely, restless, and exhausting.
Many alcoholics and addicts understand this deeply because we tried filling spiritual pain with substances, people, food, work, sex, approval, or distractions.
But recovery teaches us:
The real healing is INTERNAL.
That is why spiritual growth matters so much in sobriety.
Not because life suddenly becomes easy…
but because we no longer have to carry life alone. ✨
